Quiet workspace with notebooks, pens, and desk tools in natural light

About Desk & Draft

A small shop for the working desk

We started at a shared studio table with a drawer of pens that never wrote the same twice, and a stubborn belief that the tools you use all day should be precise, honest, and made to last.

Our story

Desk & Draft began at a market stall in Seongsu-dong in the spring of 2021. We had a box of machined pens from a small workshop in Daegu, a folding table, and no real plan beyond sharing tools we actually wanted on our own desks. By the end of that first weekend the table was empty, and we realised plenty of other people were tired of the same thing we were — cheap supplies that smudge, wobble, and break within a quarter.

Everything we carry is chosen the same way today. We work directly with a small circle of makers — a machinist in Daegu, a bookbindery outside Seoul, a leather workshop run by two brothers — and we test every product at our own desks for months before it reaches the shelf. If it wouldn't survive a year of daily meetings and margins full of notes, it doesn't make the cut.

We believe in buying fewer, better tools. A single pen you reach for every morning is worth more than a drawer full of ones you never quite trusted. That is the quiet idea behind the whole range, and it's the invitation we extend to you: build a workspace slowly, one honest tool at a time.

What we stand for

Three things we won't compromise on

Made to last

We favour metal, cork, and bound paper over throwaway plastic. Slight tool marks aren't flaws — they're the sign of something machined by a real person to hold up for years.

Refillable by design

Pens take cartridges, planners take inserts, organizers restock. We'd rather sell you one tool that lasts a decade than ten that end up in the bin.

Made to be used

Nothing here is too precious for a real workday. These are tools for deadlines, for messy brainstorms, for the ordinary Tuesday where you just need to get the thing done.
